The famous ancient Kingdom of Zhangzhung consisted of 18 Empires, having control over vast areas of South Tibet, Western China and some parts of Northern India.
Natives of this vast Empire practiced a very ancient faith named BÖN, founded by an enlightened being named Tonpa Shenrab Miwoche in the era around 8000 BC near Manasarovar Lake.
Bönpos were very peaceful and tranquil people, but in 7th century Songsten Gampo, a convert Buddhist King from North Tibet, who captured Zhangzhung by killing the ruling King named Ligmincha and started persecution of Bönpos.
The battered Zhangzhung Kingdom rebelled at the beginning of 8th century CE but that revolt was also crushed and many valuable ancient scriptures of Bön faith were threatened with destruction along with forced conversions and persecution.
In 8th century, Drenpa Namkha a revered teacher and honored Bön priest decided to hide many scriptures and also initiated migration of Bönpos to North India to avoid persecution.
Drenpa Nemkha after ensuring safety of Bön scriptures, converted himself to Buddhism. Though this was a Sunset over Bön faith, yet light was coming out of his own feet indicating his eventual victory over heretics.
A story told first time, a must read work of fiction based on real events.
